The mood was festive at the carnival, with loud music in the background and the multicolored hues of the wares on display at the stalls. As I looked around for refreshments, my eyes were drawn to the candy cart. The gossamer-like threads of pink floss were a pleasing sight, and as I headed towards it, I spotted something lovelier.
An elegant lady in her late 20s had stopped at the stand and was buying a stick of candy floss for the little girl she was escorting. Her chiffon silk saree was like poetry in motion, the pallu falling effortlessly from her shoulder. The soothing combination of pastel green and baby pink was embellished with geometric cutwork on the border and pallu, with subtle silver highlights glinting in the sun.
I found myself wishing I could have the saree instead of the candy.
