Material: Organza Silk

This silk is perfect for an evening out or for a beautiful day. Organza silk is a sheer, feather-like open weave fabric that is mildly heavier and more crisp than silk gauze, organza silk is traditionally made from the continuous filament of silkworms. It has a smooth, flat finish and sports a characteristic shine, obtaining its stiffness from tightly twisted yarns. At Sakhi, designer Chandra layers this versatile fabric in a brilliant Fuscia pink hue with border attach detailing. This creation is a melange of shot colours Pink and orange hence resulting in a briiliant hue, Organza is a speciality of weaver community in Varanasi, Banaras.

Craft: Border Attach

The saree features modern eclectic combination of unusual colours and fabrics. At Sakhi, designer Chandra layers this versatile fabric in a brilliant fuscia pink hue with border attach detailing featuring Banaras Brocade in muted beige i.e Jute brocade and contrasting Green Silk brocade. The blouse featured is also Jute Benaras brocade featuring antique zari weaving with a touch of Green for the sleeve.
